Post admissions, as everyone gets ready to join the B-School of his/her choice, it would be wise to be a little pro-active and know what to expect and what not to before taking on the course. Also since an MBA student’s life is hectic irrespective of whether he/she joins Harvard or ISB, it would be appropriate to streamline your mindset to get the best out of 2 years.

  • Don’t feel low on not having a business background.

We have been learning new things since our birth and we will continue to do so in the future also. Chin up!!!

  •  Getting an MBA degree means more than mastering the coursework.

An MBA goes far beyond statistics and case studies and it’s about complete personality development.

  • Try to get clarity on specialization you want to pursue or the type of work you wish to get into post MBA.

Even though many people find about various specializations during the 1st year of studies, it’s better to do a research in advance. More importantly this would help in getting your dream job comfortably.

  • Reach early especially if you are travelling abroad for your MBA.

Networking starts here when you need to find new friends to share room. So to get over this process of settling down, reach the city one or two weeks before the programme commences.

  • Have personal goals

Once the classes start you will have hundred, no, million excuses to not do anything apart from MBA related stuff. Hence it is better to have some personal goals in mind, in advance, like learning dance or music or sports to have a good balance at B-School.

  • Be open minded

Yes expect the unexpected and enjoy every challenge both at professional and personal level.

Daily life at Stanford is something like this.
