One of my younger brother has entered college and I wanted to explore about the YLP program of the ISB as it could be a good option for him. So I thought why not post the information I have compiled here on this forum so that it can benefit others too.
ISB’s Young Leaders Programme (YLP) is a new initiative taken by the B-School for undergraduate students to gain expertise in Management. This is a first-of-its-kind initiative in India. The program has been tailor made to accelerate career growth vide structured cutting edge learning and mentorship programmes. The competitive selection process ensures learning with students from different professional and educational backgrounds. Apart from learning, the student is also encouraged to apply whatever h/she has learnt at the workplace. The biggest advantage of the program is that it guarantees admission to PGP in management upon completion of one year and nine months of work experience. So logically speaking the entry into the programme will be highly competitive. Every student admitted will be granted an YLP scholarship of INR 1 Lakh, in addition to other merit and corporate scholarships which all PGP students contest for.
Program structure looks something like this
| March – Pre-final year | Apply to Stage 1 of YLP |
| August – Final year | Short-listed candidates to apply to Stage 2 with GMAT scores |
| September – Final year | Final Selection Process on campus |
| October – Final year | Admission Offers |
| Summer – Year 1 of work | Attend YLP Learning Weekend 1, complete graduation and start your job |
| Winter – Year 1 of work | Attend YLP Learning Weekend 2 |
| Summer – Year 2 of work | Attend YLP Learning Weekend 3 |
| Winter – Year 2 of work | Attend YLP Learning Weekend 4 |
| Winter – Year 2 of work | Apply for ISB scholarship and attend interview |
| April – Year 2 of work | Join ISB PGP* |
*YLP admits who are unable to complete 1 year and 9 months of work experience have an option to join by April, Year 3.
